Shipping

We use the USPS Priority Post service for ‘ground’ delivery and UPS or FedEx for alternate ground and all express services. Shipping charges are based on shipping weight and destination plus a small handling fee.

Our Shipping Policy

We offer several dlivery standards provided by three carriers:
Overnight (1 business day) offered by USPS, UPS, FedEx;
Overnight Saturday offered by USPS, UPS, FedEx (DHGL and FedEx - specific locations only)
2nd day (2 business days), offered by UPS, FedEx
Express (up to 3 business days) and Standard (up to 5 business days) offered by USPS, UPS, FedEx.

You may specify a delivery date; however, we can only guarantee a specific delivery date if overnight shipping is selected.

As a general rule, we do NOT ship chocolate products after Wednesday during the warm weather months OR to warm weather destinations regardless of the time of year. As a result of this policy, we cannot guarantee Monday deliveries to all locations.

You should also be aware that we cannot guarantee delivery of your product. Once we pass the package off to any one of the shippers we use, it is their responsibility to provide delivery. We are not responsible for any failure the shipper incurs in the delivery of your package. .

Standard Shipping (Ground)

We use USPS Priority Post to expedite your order. Priority Post means a product is delivered within 4 days (usually – exceptions may be encountered!) anywhere in the 50 States, Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. If you select Priority Post, your shipping charges are calculated automatically and displayed prior to your final order confirmation. One advantage of Priority Post is the ability for us to ship to a PO Box or APO/FPO address (see below for APO/FPO).

Under certain circumstances, we may elect to deliver via UPS and FedEx ground service.

Does the USPS Provide Package Tracking?

The USPS does NOT currently offer on-line package tracking. We do provide you with a USPS Delivery Confirmation number which allows us (and you) to determine if a package has been received. If you require on-going package tracking, you may elect to ship by UPS or FedEX ground when checking out. If you select EITHER UPS OR FedEX, your shipping charges are calculated automatically and displayed prior to your final order confirmation. We CANNOT ship to PO Boxes or APO/FPO addresses via UPS or FedEX.

Overnight and Second Day Shipping


Overnight and second day shipping is available via FedEX or UPS. On checking out, you will see a rate for overnight or second day service. This rate is NOT calculated – it is based an average of all overnight and second day shipping charges for the past 12 months. Therefore, it may NOT be the rate you are actually charged.If you select overnight or second day shipping, your confirmation will display the average rate for that service. When we receive your order, we will calculate your actual rate based on weight, distance, and service type. The calculated rate may be higher or lower than the ‘average rate’. If it is HIGHER, we will notify you of the rate by email and ask you to confirm acceptance of the rate. If the actual rate is LOWER than the ‘average rate’, we will adjust your shipping charge accordingly and process your order. You will not receive a confirmation email on a lowered rate charge UNLESS you explicitly state, when checking out, that you wish a shipping charge confirmation, You can type your request for a confirmation in the ‘Send A Message To Us’ box when checking out.

Can You Ship Overnight to a PO Box and Do You Offer Saturday Delivery?

If you require an overnight shipment to a PO Box or Saturday delivery, the USPS ExpressMail service may meet your needs. ExpresssMail does deliver to PO Boxes and on Saturdays – however the USPS does not provide overnight service to all USPS service areas. We suggest that you call us about ExpressMail. ExpressMail is NOT a shipping option on check-out. If you think you may require ExpressMail, CALL us first (866-232-3612).Saturday delivery MAY be available, at significant additional cost, by UPS or FedEx, however this service may not be available to your shipping destination. Call us toll-free if you have any questions about UPS or FedEX overnight and second day shipping (866-232-3612).

Do You Ship To Canada?

Canadian orders are shipped via FedEX ground within Canada. We only ship on Tuesdays to Canadian addresses. Another shipper can be arranged, but at additional cost. We can also provide second day and overnight delivery via FedEX within Canada; again, shipping only on Tuesday from St Catharines ON. Overnight, second day, and other services must be calculated by us. We do not ship orders based on these calculations without your approval.

Holiday Warning: From 15 October - 21 December, shipments may not be made from within Canada on a weekly basis, therefore 2nd Day and Overnight deliveries may not meet your required expected date of delivery.

Do You Ship Internationally?

We ship internationally with USPS Airmail Parcel Post. The international rate is the average rate for shipments. It may NOT be the rate you are actually charged. Your confirmation will display the average rate for that service. When we receive your order, we will calculate your actual rate based on weight, distance, and service type. The calculated rate may be higher or lower than the ‘average rate’. If it is HIGHER, we will notify you of the rate by email and ask you to confirm acceptance of the rate. If the actual rate is LOWER than the ‘average rate’, we will adjust your shipping charge accordingly and process your order. You will not receive a confirmation email on a lowered rate charge UNLESS you explicitly state, when checking out, that you wish a shipping charge confirmation, You can type your request for a confirmation in the ‘Send A Message To Us’ box when checking out.Although the maximum weight we can ship internationally by Airmail Parcel Post is 66 pounds, our average rate is based on 4 pounds. IF you believe your product will weigh 16 ounces or less, you can select the USPS Global Priority rate. This is an international cardboard envelope, 12” x 9”. If your order weighs LESS than 1 pound AND can be enclosed within this envelope, you may select this option. IF you select this option AND your order weighs more than a pound OR it will not fit into the envelope to meet USPS regulation, we will email you with the adjusted charge. Customs duties and any local taxes are the responsibility of the recipient and cannot be prepaid.

You should also be aware that we cannot guarantee any packages that we ship internationally. There may be delays in delivery or in customs hold-ups which may affect our product.

Do You Ship to APO/FPO Addresses?

APO/FPO We ship to APO/FPO addresses at our standard domestic shipping rates. Due to the fact that the US Postal Service transports packages only to the Military postal service which is then responsible for final delivery, we cannot guarantee APO/FPO delivery service. Overall, we have had good success with APO/FPO shipping however the usual USPS service standards may not be met. For ALL APO/FPO addresses, please provide COMPLETE and MAILABLE addresses. If you are unsure as to the correct form of the mailing address, please verify the address PRIOR to ordering.

Shipments to an APO/PO address must be sent via standard shipping and cannot be guaranteed to arrive by a specific date.

What if an incorrect shipping address is provided?

If the shipping address you provide us is incorrect and the product is returned to us, we will make every effort to confirm your address and reship. Unfortunately, we cannot assume the additional charge incurred for the reshipping. We will charge your credit card or request a check/money order to cover the reshipping charge. You will be notified of the package return.

What Are Your Order Shipping Times?

We make every effect to insure that your products are shipped within 24 hours of receipt of your order. There are times, however, where product must be made to fulfill your order, or product is out-of-stock. We will ship as soon as product is available. If you require a product by a certain date, please let us know in the Comments portion of the checkout form, or call us to check availability.

Once your gift has been shipped, we email you the tracking number so you may track your gift to its destination if desired.

Holiday Deadlines

Orders must be received by 2:00 pm EST 2 DAYS BEFORE the dates indicated below to ensure timely delivery. Applies to in-stock items only. If an item is temporarily out-of-stock, you will be informed and alternates suggested. Please do not wait until the last minute - especially for Christmas!

Canadian Deadlines: SUBTRACT 1 week from the deadlines given in the chart below. As an example, if the deadline is given as 21 DEC, the Canadian deadline is 14 DEC.
